Getting started with YOUR new guide to Cornwall
WikiKernow has been launched so it can be compiled and edited by members of the public.
Cornwall and Devon Media, publishers of the Cornish Guardian, Cornishman and West Briton weekly newspapers and thisiscornwall.co.uk, has set up WikiKernow.co.uk for locals and visitors to make their own.
Based on the hugely popular Wikipedia format, it has been populated with a basic layer of information about Cornish towns, villages and topics.
From smuggling, ship wrecks and gig racing to the Cornish language, emblems and the local economy - we’ve provided a starting point for you to add your own facts or knowledge. But the key is - what's here is up to YOU - if you don't agree with it, then make changes.
So why not get started now? Search for whatever you're interested in - be it a town or topic - and just click "edit" on that page to begin contributing. If it doesn't already exist then just create it! You have to be registered to do that, but all you need to think of is a username and a password!
Alternatively, try clicking "Places" in the Navigation menu on the left.
If you're not familiar with the wiki ways, take a look at the User's Guide for information on using the software.
